Some of the biggest concerns men have about getting a tummy tuck procedure in Pennsylvania are how long it will take to recover and when they can expect to see results. This popular procedure is one that helps many people restore their confidence and feel better about their body so it is understandable that our patients want to see quick results. As in all procedures, there is some recovery time to allow your body to heal.

Here are some of the recovery tips we give to our patients after their Pennsylvania male tummy tuck procedure.

  • Avoid heavy lifting for approximately four to six weeks – This is standard in many surgeries and is meant to protect your body from injury. Heavy lifting includes anything over approximately 20 pounds. If your job requires you to lift this much, or more, you may need to talk to your boss before having the procedure done to make sure that this will not be a problem.
  • Plan to be away from work for two to three weeks – You will also need to give your body significant rest following the procedure so that it can heal in the best way possible. For many people, this means missing work for a few weeks or working out of their homes. This way, your body can recover naturally giving you the best results possible.
  • Bruising and swelling may be present for weeks after the surgery – It is not uncommon to have some residual bruising or swelling for a few weeks following the surgery. This, however, will go away eventually and is completely normal.
