Kole Plastic Surgery Center Center provides tummy tucks to the residents of Abington, PA.

What Is a Tummy Tuck?

A tummy tuck is a procedure which flattens the abdomen by removing excess fat or skin and tightening the muscles within the abdomen. The procedure is most often performed on women after pregnancy or individuals who have recovered from obesity to get rid of excess skin.

How Is a Tummy Tuck Performed?

The patient is first put under general anesthesia which will keep them unconscious during the procedure. Dr. Kole will make an incision across the lower abdomen and another up to the belly button. The skin will then be moved up to the ribcage. He continues by tightening the muscles and reconstructing their position within the abdomen. The skin is then repositioned and any excess skin is removed. Dr. Kole finishes by stitching the incisions back together. The surgery can take up to five hours.
