Let’s be real, most women aren’t happy with their breasts. As women get older, mainly after childbirth and breast feeding their boobs sag and droop. They don’t feel comfortable in a fitted shirt or other types of tight-fitting clothing. I mean Bras can only do so much, or maybe you weren’t blessed with the busty chest that you’ve always wanted. Well, you’re in luck as there is a way to make you feel sexy and confident in your clothes and especially out of them!
The answer…. Breast Augmentation aka a “Boob Job”. Breast augmentation is a common and sought after plastic surgery procedure that gives you the breasts you have always wanted. Breast implants are one of the most common types of plastic surgery performed in America.
What Type of Breast Augmentation is Right for Me
Now that you have decided to get a Breast augmentation let’s talk type. There are two types of implants that can be used: saline implants which are salt water filled and inflated post insertion and silicone implants which are prefilled. The choice among these is often personal preference, although Dr. Kole can advise you on the best choice for your implant based on your health, age, and desires. Along with the implants you may need a breast lift to make those saggy puppies perky again, but that procedure can be done simultaneously with the implants.
How Long Will Recovery Take
Time is coming and you can’t wait but let’s get real. How will this surgery affect my life? What’s the down and recovery time? Well ladies it’s not bad at all. As with any surgery there will be post-surgical recovery. Recovery is based on two factors: muscle stretch and skin stretch. The larger the implant the more muscle and skin stretch. The good news is, this will pass, as the implant is placed under the chest muscle it will appear a bit high and may take a few weeks for the implant to drop as the muscle needs to relax. Once that happens, you will have those beautiful buxom breasts you’ve always wanted.
You can usually go back to work in a few days to a week. After surgery you will have a follow up in a week with Dr. Kole which is usually when he removes the stitches. You can do basic activities however you should limit any overhead activities for at least 2 weeks. You can go back to light physical exercise after 2 weeks and more strenuous exercise after about 4 weeks. Dr. Kole recommends wearing a soft recovery bra post-surgery for better healing and support.
