Pigmented Lesion Treatment

Centrally located in Southampton, PA and serving Philadelphia, Bucks, and Montgomery Counties, The Kole Plastic Surgery Center uses the PicoSure® laser for patients with pigmented lesions.

What are Pigmented Lesions?

Pigmented lesions form when melanin, which is what gives our skin color, is abnormally concentrated in one or more areas of the skin. They can occur at birth, but most occur with age or as a result of overexposure to the sun’s damaging rays. Pigmented lesions can show up as moles, age spots, freckles, liver spots, or birthmarks.

Most people have a few obvious brown spots on their skin. They may be on the face, arms, hands, legs, or anywhere on the body. These concentrated areas of melanin, which create the pigmented lesions, can be left alone. Sometimes, however, they are so obvious that they are distracting and unappealing. In addition, they can age a person’s appearance. In today’s world, where beauty and youth are so connected to professional and personal success, having clear, smooth skin is very important. Looking and feeling younger and more attractive allows you to be more confident and happy! Most people choose to have most pigmented lesions removed.

Dark spots can also appear due to:

  • Exposure to UV rays
  • Skin trauma
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Chemicals found in creams and cosmetics
  • Pregnancy

After a thorough examination to determine if your pigmented lesions are benign and safe to remove with the PicoSure® laser, you will be able to consult with Dr. Kole and schedule an appointment for treatment.

The Kole Plastic Surgery Center is the sole provider in the tri-county area of Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery Counties to use the state-of-the-art technology of the PicoSure® laser to eliminate pigmented lesions.
