Stretch marks (striae) are a form of scarring on the skin caused by tearing of the dermis. They are usually the result of the rapid stretching of the skin, such as during pregnancy or a sudden weight gain.
Cellulite is a pattern of skin dimples and nodes that is caused by small amounts of the fat under the skin extending into fibrous connective tissue.
Sadly, there is no truly effective treatment for stretch marks or cellulite. Often stretch marks will fade over time, but they cannot be expect to disappear.
